Course overview

Revit Electrical course is a practical, project-based course designed to equip students, engineers, technicians, and construction professionals with the skills required to create professional electrical building models using Autodesk Revit. Whether you are new to Revit MEP or looking to strengthen your electrical design skills, this course provides a structured learning path from the fundamentals to a complete project.

The course begins by introducing the core concepts of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and the Revit interface. Learners will then set up an electrical project by linking architectural models, creating views, levels, sections, and loading Revit families. These foundational lessons ensure students understand the Revit workflow before moving into design.

Students will then learn how to create complete electrical layouts by placing lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, electrical equipment, panels, circuits, cable trays, and conduits. In addition, the course covers annotation, documentation, scheduling, and converting PDF drawings into editable Revit models, enabling learners to produce industry-standard electrical documentation.

The course concludes with a comprehensive final project where students apply everything they have learned by designing a complete electrical system for a building from start to finish. By the end of the course, learners will have the confidence to model, document, and present professional electrical designs in Revit, preparing them for real-world engineering projects and careers in the AEC industry.
