This course trains on how to use Bluebeam for taking off PDF drawings. Learn how to organize the various items of measurement using layers and them produce a list of items with measured values which you can summarize and sum up using excel. Later you can track the measured items and easily identify omitted items.
Bluebeam is a software that works with PDFs through inserting markups (revision and measurement markups). Contractors, engineers, architects and other professionals can use Bluebeam to insert markups for drawing revision. With Bluebeam, estimators can easily and graphically measure the various items while organizing these items using layers. They can also attach properties to graphically identify items and also give descriptions to the measured items. Later the estimators can produce a list of the measured items and export them to Excel for further analysis and summing up.
When using Bluebeam for takeoff, an estimator will need to ensure that they are keen to give proper descriptions to identify the various items as well as assign items to the correct layer. Mistakes can happen but it is easy to track the measured item to identify the error(s).
This course seeks to train bluebeam creatively. First, we cover bluebeam mark ups and measurement tools. Then, we cover real life take off exercise from a PDF drawing and then exporting the items to excel sheet for further analysis.
